PROCESS

First of all, you will have to check all the links that the teacher will give you in RESOURCES.

After that, you will be able to understand that in other countries are many different holidays that we do not celebrate and there are many others that we celebrate too but in a different way. So you have to contrast the ways that we and people in US celebrate the same holidays.

Then make a list about the holidays more interesting that people in other countries celebrate and explain the way they celebrate them (10 holidays)

When you finish that, look for 5 holidays that are totally different, it means that 5 holidays that we celebrate but people in US do not and viceversa. (At the end you will have 10 holidays)

Do not forget that you have to use cardinal numbers to express dates.

For next class you have to be ready with your speech about the holiday that catch your attention more than the others, make an outline and prepare materials (power point presentation, flashcards, posters, drawings, videos, etc.) to explain better to your classmates.

TASK

You will work individually looking for some holidays that are celebrated around the world and comparing how people celebrate them. Do we celebrate them in a different way?

Furthermore, you have to use the cardinal numbers in order to say and write dates.

For next class, you have to explain an interesting holiday to your classmates during the class.

INTRODUCTION

A holiday, for many people means time off work. Generally holidays are intended to allow individuals to celebrate or commemorate something of cultural or religious significance. Holidays may be designated by governments, religious institutions, or other groups or organizations.
So, we have to know how to say the date a holiday is celebrated; then, we have to learn the days of the week, the months of the year and the cardinal numbers (in English we use cardinal numbers to express dates) in order to communicate ideas about birthdays and holidays.
